Crest Robotics and Coding Academy will be providing coding classes for fall 2026 with proprietary in-house curriculum using Scratch (a block based coding platform built by MIT). Classes will be held on Thursdays after school from 2:30PM to 3:30PM. Classes start on Sep 3 and run through Nov 19. No class on Oct 15. In addition, we will shift to a virtual format to make up for any days for inclement weather and/or other emergencies.

For each class, we will split children in groups of up to two and code projects in Scratch. Multiple levels or projects are used for each class to cater to children from K-6. Through these projects, they will learn mathematics, logic, animation, storytelling, branching logic, and will even get to code and create their own video games! We use Google Photos to share pictures and videos of children working on projects with parents. Our goal is to teach children problem solving skills and logical thinking. We also teach children how to model good and positive behaviors, learn how to work in teams and build their self-confidence and esteem by encouraging them to talk about their creations at the end of each project.
