Jessica Harral, Curriculum Director

Jessica moved from Alaska to Fort Collins in 1998 to attend college and never left. She has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has coding experience with programs such as C++, Matlab and Python.  Jessica has also volunteered with Girl Scouts of Colorado for the last 20 years because she enjoys doing hands-on activities with children and their excitement when trying or learning something new. 

In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading, cooking, crafting or playing with her five children. Jessica will be leading schools in Fort Collins, Loveland and the Windsor areas! She is also leading development of the Crest proprietrary curriculum

Rachel Gaby, Operations Manager

Rachel grew up and lives in middle Tennessee with her husband and 1 year old daughter. She has always had a love for children and volunteered in many different children’s programs from a young age. She graduated from Bryan College in Dayton, TN with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Human Services. Since graduating, Rachel spent one summer running the children’s camp for her local YMCA and 3 years working as the Local Director for Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Upper Cumberland, where she after school Bible clubs in her 14-county region. She has now stepped back from her role as Local Director to focus on caring for her daughter and works remotely as Crest’s Operations Manager. Rachel enjoys spending her time reading, baking, and exploring the world with her daughter.

Shel Gerding, Faculty Member

After growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Stephanie moved to Colorado where’d she completed a BA in psychology and an Elementary Education Certificate Program at CU Boulder. After graduation, Stephanie returned to California where she taught and helped develop curriculum for an afterschool STEM start up program focusing on robotics, circuitry, Minecraft, and coding. This is when she discovered her love for helping guide and learn alongside children as they dive into their excitement for all things tech. Her passion for working with children has led her down many avenues - as a nanny, early childhood music and motor skills classes teacher, tutor, summer camp director, and preschool teacher. Currently, she is the lead early childhood teacher at a local Waldorf School. Outside of work, she enjoys time with friends, experiencing live music, and time in Colorado’s beautiful outdoors while snowboarding, hiking, and paddle boarding. Stephanie is excited to spend her afternoons with Crest robotics students creating, exploring, and innovating!

Sabrina Xu, Faculty Member

Sabrina is a passionate teacher with a love for creativity through any media: robotics, art, technology, music, and everything in between! She inspires students to explore the intersection of art and innovation. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Practices and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Sabrina encourages students to leverage technology as a tool for self-discovery and communication. In her freetime, Sabrina explores the prairie. She often observes wildlife and plantlife, with a particular interest in reptiles. She draws inspiration from the principles of biomimicry, observing how nature’s designs and processes can inform technological innovation.

Jeremy

Jeremy Bickel, Regional Coach South Denver

Jeremy grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Colorado a few years ago. He has served in the international non-profit sector for the last seven years working in community development and has a passion for helping young people add skills to their lives that will benefit them in the future. He has a bachelor’s degree in history, and his experiences include teaching, management, training, and international operations. He is passionate about helping children use their creativity in technology and will be coaching Faculty in the Highlands Ranch and Littleton areas.

Alison Gorman, Faculty Member

Alison holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and spent 12 years as a Controls Engineer in the manufacturing industry. Recently, she studied Software Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines and has been developing iOS apps. A lifelong tech enthusiast, Alison is passionate about sharing the creativity and confidence that STEM inspires. Through her work as a youth coach in soccer and mountain biking, she focuses on helping kids build skills, confidence, and a strong sense of community. Alison is excited to bring her passion for technology and education to empower the next generation of innovators.

Eileen

Eileen Waninger, Faculty Member

Eileen grew up in central Indiana and moved to Colorado last year. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. She is also doing research that includes programming simulations of molecules.

In her free time, Eileen likes reading, traveling, or picking up a new hobby. She also enjoys hanging out with friends around Golden.

Aimee Kopp, Faculty Member

Aimee grew up in Alaska and is a Junior World sled dog racing champion. While in Alaska, she served on the board of directors for Matsu Health Services, a local community health center. She has lived in Colorado for 10 years and is in her seventh year teaching science, engineering, and math classes at a Jeffco charter school.

Aimee loves inspiring students to see how math and science are relevant in the real world. Outside of work, Aimee enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with family. She has a B.S. in Physical Therapy, and an M.S. in Business Analytics. She is leading schools in the Evergreen area.

Dylan

Dylan Youngstrom, Faculty Member

With a robust background in radio frequency engineering and a passion for advancing telecommunications, Dylan currently serves as a senior RF Engineer at Comcast, managing all the fiber optical and satellite communication equipment. Leveraging multiple degrees and a range of industry certifications, Dylan excels in optimizing network performance and ensuring cutting-edge solutions for diverse RF / Electrical challenges. When Dylan isn’t working as an RF Engineer at Comcast, he likely is enjoying the great outdoors. Passionate about snowboarding, hiking, and activities with his dog, Dylan thrives on adventure and exploration. Whether carving through fresh powder on the slopes, hitting the trails for a scenic hike, or spending quality time with his canine companion, Dylan embraces every opportunity to connect with nature. Dylan will be leading schools in the South Denver area!

Elaine Miller, Faculty Member

Elaine is passionate about education and lifelong learning and enjoys working with children and watching them explore, grow, and flourish. Elaine began her professional career in physical therapy, sports medicine, personal and athletic training. She has held positions as a preschool teacher, an after-school care provider and various positions working with youth athletics. She has her B.S in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado and her M.S. in Sports Medicine from Chapman College. Elaine has been in medical education since 2008 starting with continuing medical education and now graduate medical education, where she is the program administrator for the General Surgery Residency and Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Swedish Medical Center. Elaine enjoys spending her free time with her pride and joy, her now grown children (and the family dog), as well as doing puzzles, traveling, attending sporting events, and concerts.

Greg Wells, Faculty Member

Greg obtained BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biological Sciences, with an emphasis on Biomedical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, where he won a national ASME award for designing the digital and mechanical components for an artificial arm. Greg has filled many roles during his career, including Technical Project Manager, Principal Engineer and Director of Engineering. He and his wife Nancy have lived in Colorado since the late 1980’s and now call the foothills west of Golden and Boulder home. They enjoy hiking, biking and disc golf. Two of Greg’s other passions are music and art, and he has taught music to hundreds of people, both adults and kids. He has also released over 20 solo albums. His art, which combines photography and oil painting, has been featured at various galleries in Colorado and New Mexico. He also develops alternative controllers to help people with disabilities play and record music. Greg thrives on teaching and mentoring.

Dana Loftus, Faculty Member

Dana grew up in the mountains in Vail Colorado, and moved to Denver to study psychology and philosophy at the University of Colorado. She has worked with kids at multiple after-school programs, and summer camps for the past 5 years, and plans to continue her work with youth through a career in child psychology. She believes in fostering a love for learning in the children she works with by making her classes fun, engaging, and meaningful.

In her free time, Dana enjoys spending time with her loved ones, reading, yoga, meditation, and pottery. She is always thrilled to broaden her horizons and relishes the opportunity to explore new perspectives and embrace the people around her.

Caleb

Caleb Frazier, Faculty Member

Caleb Frazier is both a graduate student at Colorado School of Mines, pursuing a MS NT in Underground Construction and Tunnel Engineering, and a Faculty member at Crest Robotics.

He is a proud Coloradan and Boettcher Scholar who specialized in conceptual mathematics in his undergraduate education at the University of Denver.

Alexis Press, Faculty Member

Alexis (Lexie) has lived in Colorado her entire life. She completed her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University in Human Development and Family Studies where she discovered her passion for helping others grow and succeed. Lexie worked as a Case Manager for individuals with disabilities for a few years, providing support and assistance with securing home and community based services. She then completed her Master's degree in Healthcare Management at the University of Denver in 2022 and currently works at Swedish Medical Center as the Program Administrator for the Anesthesiology Residency Program. In her free time, Lexie enjoys spending time outside with her dog - going on hikes, to dog parks, and to the lake. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. Lexie will be leading classes in the Littleton area!

Kevin grew up in Colorado but recently obtained his BS in both Mathematics and Physics at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He has a passion for education and is excited to teach and inspire students through STEM. Kevin loves spending time in the mountains camping and hiking. He is also an avid reader and loves competing in sports with his friends.

Mandy Floreani, Regional Coach Fort Collins and North Denver

Mandy moved to Colorado 5 years ago from Boise, Idaho. Mandy is an alumna of Alpha Gamma Delta and University of Idaho. She has a rich background in both technical and creative fields. Mandy spends her free time reading, enjoying live music, and travelling with her friends. When the weather is nice, you can find her riding around town on her motorcycle.

Peter Kessinger, Faculty Member

Peter has been a Colorado resident his entire life. He currently attends Colorado State University and is working on his Ph.D. He has a master’s in Environmental Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and has experience with computer and coding work. In his free time, Peter likes to hike, paddleboard, camp, and ski. He takes his dog on runs around Fort Collins and enjoys hanging out with his friends in Old Town Fort Collins.

Casey

Casey Baker, Faculty Member

Casey grew up in central Missouri and moved to Fort Collins in 2021 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics. While her primary study is in math, her experience in STEM includes applying math concepts and computation to the fields of physics, statistics, computer science, and cybersecurity. Her coding expertise is mainly focused in Python, R, and Java. In her free time, Casey loves going to the farmer’s market, catching up with friends, and traveling. You can always find her in nature: paddleboarding, hiking, and watching the sunset. Casey’s next goal is to earn a Doctorate’s degree in Mathematics, specializing in cryptography.

Isabelle C, Faculty Member

Belle is a native of Santa Barbara, California, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Syracuse University. Her early career path led her to veterinary medicine, where she spent five years as a veterinary technician specializing in both emergency medicine and wildlife rehabilitation, including work with marine mammals such as sea lions. Shortly after moving to Fort Collins in 2019, she transitioned into the accounting field, developing a strong foundation in administrative work and office management. Beyond her professional pursuits, she maintains an active lifestyle as an avid triathlete and surfer. On her days off she spends time running and hiking with her partner and their newly rescued border collie mix. Belle loved attending after-school programs when she was younger and looks forward to imparting her love of math and science to the younger generation!
