Crest Robotics and Coding Academy will be providing robotics and coding classes for 2024-25 using Lego kits, VEX kits and Scratch (a block based coding platform built by MIT). Classes will be held on Fridays after school from 3:15PM to 4:15PM. Classes start on Aug 30 and run through May 23. No class on Oct 18, Nov 29, Dec 27, Jan 3, Mar 21, Apr 18 and May 16. In addition, May 9 will be used as a make up day for inclement weather and/or other emergencies.
For robotics, we focus on individual class projects where we create a small team of 2-3 children that complete a project including building and coding in each class. For coding in Scratch, each child will be working individually. We use Seesaw to share pictures and videos of children working on projects, with their parents, and also offer parents a chance for parent teacher conferences to discuss their learning and growth. Our goal is to teach children problem solving skills and logical thinking. We also teach children how to model good and positive behaviors, learn how to work in teams and build their self-confidence and esteem by encouraging them to talk about their creations at the end of each project.
We require a 30 day notice of cancellation with email notice to info@crestcomputing.com. Payments within the 30 day period will still be due.
