Children are naturally fascinated with electronics and we leverage this connection to explore the educational side of technology. Across our classes, we build and code video games and robots that demonstrate the power and versatility of modern-day technology.

Our curriculum team is creating projects that teach science, engineering and coding fundamentals to children. In addition, our courses are designed to go along the school year, to teach children perserverance and the ability to stay commited towards a goal. Our team based approach teaches children how to work in teams of diverse backgrounds. We believe these are invaluable skills to equip children with for success.

Robotics
Coding

We use teach children how to build robots and how to program them demonstrating practical concepts of science and engineering

We leverage coding platforms from the best universities and companies such as MIT Scratch & Python to teach your child coding!

Robotics using LEGO® Wedo

We use an award winning solution by Lego® that is based upon the latest science standards and was created to enhance students’ curiosity and science skills. This Lego® set has multiple programmable components including a Smarthub, a Medium Motor, Motion Sensor and a Tilt Sensor providing your little learner ample opportunity to explore the world of Robotics.

We use our proprietary curriculum to provide a unique experience in our classes teaching life, physical, earth, and space sciences, as well as engineering.

LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential Set

LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential STEAM curriculum units for elementary are designed around playful narrative-based problem-solving with relatable themes that can develop young students into independent STEAM thinkers.

Crest used Spike Essential and our proprietary curriculum which has three levels of projects for each class. The projects are created with a them so we can teach science, engineering and coding concepts to all grades in elementary school!

Robotics using VEX

VEX Robotics provides educational robotics providing solutions that span all levels of formal and informal education with accessible, scalable, and affordable solutions. Beyond science and engineering principles, VEX encourages creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem solving among groups. It allows us to engage and inspire the STEM problem solvers of tomorrow!

VEX use smart components (brain which connects via bluetooth to computers, motors, LED bumpers, crash detectors, optical sensors) and uses SCRATCH as a platform, and other programming languages to code robots to demonstrate real life application of robotics, science and engineering concepts!

Coding using SCRATCH by MIT

Scratch is the world’s largest coding community for children and a coding language with a simple visual interface that allows young people to create digital stories, games, and animations. Scratch is designed, developed, and moderated by the Scratch Foundation, a nonprofit organization.

We use Scratch to teach computational thinking and problem solving skills, creative learning, self-expression and collaboration.

Coding in Python!

Python needs no introduction in coding. It is a powerful language, fast, plays well with other interfaces, runs everywhere and is friendly & easy to learn.

We teach this language to our advanced learners.

Below are a few examples of projects created by the Crest curriculum team. We are able to accomplish the following objectives with our propreitrary projects:

 – These projects are tailored to our K-5 classes to keep the level apporpriate to the children.

– We infuse excitement by bringing in projects appropriate to the time of the year. For e.g., children build the spooky pumpkin in Fall, and the ghost-rider around Halloween!

 – We are able to teach science, engineering and coding concepts that build on what we have already taught students.
