Crest Robotics and Coding Academy will be providing robotics and coding classes for 2024-25 using Lego kits, VEX kits and Scratch (a block based coding platform built by MIT). Classes will be held on Mondays after school from 2:40PM to 3:40PM. Classes start on Aug 25 and run through May 18. No class on Sep 1, Sep 22, Oct 13, Nov 24, Dec 22, 29, Jan 5, Jan 19, Feb 16 and Mar 30. In addition, May 4 and May 11 will be used as make up days for inclement weather and/or other emergencies.

For robotics, we focus on individual class projects where we create a small team of 2-3 children that complete a project including building and coding in each class. For coding in Scratch, each child will be working individually. We use Seesaw to share pictures and videos of children working on projects, with their parents, and also offer parents a chance for parent teacher conferences to discuss their learning and growth. Our goal is to teach children problem solving skills and logical thinking. We also teach children how to model good and positive behaviors, learn how to work in teams and build their self-confidence and esteem by encouraging them to talk about their creations at the end of each project.

Cancellation policy

Registration/sign up fees are non-refundable. Registration will enroll your child for the school year which is divided into three trimesters. Please note cancellation policy and timelines below for each trimester. If registration is not cancelled for trimester by the deadline, fees for the trimester are due in full and are non-refundable. Cancellation notice must be sent to info@crestcomputing.com. No exceptions will be made to cancellation policies.

Cancellation timeline:

Trimester 1: Sep through Nov (cancel by end of July)

Trimester 2: Dec through Feb (cancel by end of October)

Trimester 3: Mar through May (cancel by end of January)
