Crest Robotics and Coding Academy will be providing robotics and coding classes for 2024-25 using Lego kits, VEX kits and/or Scratch (a block based coding platform built by MIT). Classes will be held on Tuesdays after school from 3:40PM to 4:40PM. Please note class schedule for the Winter and Spring Sessions.

Winter

• 8 Tuesday classes offered on 12/10, 12/17, 1/07, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/04, 2/11 with no classes held on 12/24, 12/31

Spring

• 8 Tuesday classes offered on  2/25, 3/04, 3/25, 4/08, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/06 with no classes held on 3/11, 3/18, 4/01

Please note the payment plan for this class. Fees for each session are non-refundable. If you would like to dis-enroll for winter session or for spring session, cancellation notices via email to info@crestcomptuing.com must be sent 30 days ahead of the winter and spring session start: 11/10 and 1/25 respectively.

For robotics, we focus on individual class projects where we create a small team of 2-3 children that complete a project including building and coding in each class. For coding in Scratch, each child will be working individually. We use Seesaw to share pictures and videos of children working on projects, with their parents, and also offer parents a chance for parent teacher conferences to discuss their learning and growth. Our goal is to teach children problem solving skills and logical thinking. We also teach children how to model good and positive behaviors, learn how to work in teams and build their self-confidence and esteem by encouraging them to talk about their creations at the end of each project.
